How do I install AirTrack?
Download the version for your platform and follow the README instructions.
Do I need internet access?
Nope! AirTrack runs fully offline in the field.
Where is the .env file?
In the main folder. It stores secure values like the database password.
How do I add an aircraft?
Use the 'Add Aircraft' form in the main menu.
What’s the difference between aircraft and flights?
An aircraft is unique; a flight is each time it's seen.
Can I edit sightings?
Yes — open the aircraft and use the Edit option.
Can I link to Flightradar24?
Yes, if you're online. You can jump to FR24 from the database.
What does “Spotted At” mean?
It’s the location where you physically spotted the aircraft.
Can I log military aircraft?
Absolutely. Just type in their registration manually if not listed.
How do I sync between machines?
Use Git or a USB stick to copy the latest database across devices.
What should I do after fieldwork?
Import any new sightings and sync with your home setup.
How are aircraft registries imported?
Each country has a file that can be imported from the Admin menu.
Can I update registries manually?
Yes, just place the file in the correct folder and trigger import.
What happens when a new file is added?
It will be moved into a “holding” folder with the import date.
What reports are available?
AirTrack offers most seen aircraft, busiest times, rare types, and more.
Can I export or print data?
Yes — reports can be exported or printed using your browser.
I got a database error!
Check the `.env` file, confirm your DB is running, and restart AirTrack.
The layout looks wrong!
Try refreshing or clearing your browser cache. Also check for recent CSS edits.
How do I report a bug?
Use the Bug Tracker via the AirTrack admin panel.
